Do you have a car, a few mates and fancy an adventure - with some driving and sight-seeing thrown in? …… and raise money for Salisbury Hospicecare. If so,
Clock Tower Challenge 2010 is for you! Salisbury Hospicecare Trust has teamed up with The Mustard Agency, the leading South Wiltshire marketing and design firm, to organise a 3 day car rally across Europe.
The event starts in Salisbury Guildhall Square early on Friday 26th March and ends on Sunday 28th March 2010, back in Salisbury. The rally takes in:
* 5 countries – England, Belgium, Holland, Germany, France.
* Opportunity for overnight stays in Paris and Amsterdam;
* 1,150 miles;
* A series of challenges on the journey involving observation and initiative.
For some,
The Clock Tower Challenge 2010 will be an enjoyable tour through some of Europe's most interesting Cities - for others it could turn into the biggest challenge of your lifetime. It's not just a great driving experience, but a great chance to visit some fascinating destinations and raise some money for Salisbury Hospicecare.
Why Clocktower Challenge? The event is being organised over the weekend when clocks go forward. The first task is to take a photo of Salisbury Clocktower in Fisherton Street – and then a series of other photos of Clocktowers in the following Towns and Cities – Dover, Calais, Antwerp, Amsterdam, Xanten, Brussels, Paris, Amiens and back to Salisbury. The Challenge is in completing your route and also the planning of it – although we can give you guidance and help.
There will be achievement prizes for teams - shortest distance travelled, furthest distance travelled, Clocktower Quiz, oldest car to complete and winner of the postcard draw.
Entry costs £100 per vehicle – with teams up to four named people each raising further sponsorship, with a target of £250 per person.
You can help in several ways::
- enter a team;
- sponsor a team or team member;
- become a main event sponsor (especially if you are in the motor industry);
- help to recruit teams,
- provide items for the prizes.
